I was desperately after a Matt Pike signature Warlord and Steve made it happen! When I get this guitar, it will be one of my more prized possessions! I can't say enough good words about these guys!
I got my Woodrite Switchblade delivered to Australia a few months back now and so happy I did.
Has Great dirty mean tone and very versatile .
With a really fast playable neck.
In loving it!
In Iommi we trust
Good things first: this guitar feels and plays incredible, finish and fretwork was flawless, action was perfect out of the box, intonation was spot on, and the flame top is beautiful, the upgraded tuners are stable and smooth. I have wanted a DC style guitar since I saw the masto-bros and Matt playing them in 2011(?). This guitar is underpriced for the quality and I would buy it again.
The cons for me:
– The pickups and wiring are the biggest challenge I have, the neck and middle position are incredibly muddy (clean, gained up etc), almost like there is a mid frequency scooped out. It sounds almost like the tone knob is rolled off. The signal is so intense you have to roll the volume back to 2-4 if you are playing into anything that doesn’t have infinite headroom or you will start clipping. This all may be by design with lace, but it feels like neck and middle are either warm-fuzz only positions and a missed opportunity for a 3 pickup guitar.
– Issues with the wiring – after playing it for a few weeks the neck position randomly stopped working and there is barely any signal coming through. Not sure if its the switch or the harness – going to have to take it to a tech to fix.
– 7th and 9th inlays arrived split through the middle of them. Can see it happened in the factory and was glued and sanded down, aesthetic only, but it’s annoying to see every time you look at the fretboard.
Overall I still love this guitar, despite the limitations of the pickups and QC issues from the factory. Incredible value for what you get. Thanks for making this possible, Steve!
This is the guitar from hell.
I’m going to keep this short .
It’s a phenomenal beast of a guitar and is incredibly versatile.
It’s an incredible weapon of doom but also a very versatile guitar When switching between the massive earth-shattering tones with the Pikester Firespitter pups, you get a load of tones when you dial back on tone & volume. I’ve found these “ Hell on Earth pups to be incredibly versatile.
I want another one.
Just buy one of these; for this price tag, you’d be insane not to.
I can’t believe you get this fuckin beast for the price tag.
Thanks so much Steve, Matt & all those involved.

The bottom line is that this guitar is killer. The fit and finish are absolutely flawless, and it arrived in perfect condition. The inlays look amazing, the neck is smooth and fast, and the crimson burst is such a great color. It’s also nice to get a Woodrite-branded case, too. I already own a gold burst Warlord and a Switchblade, so I knew what to expect, and I’m not disappointed at all. These guitars are just as good or better than my USA-made Gibsons and PRS. The Firespitter pickups are very different from the Woodrite Barbarians, which is awesome for me because I have ample reason to play both guitars now. The firespitters are very hot and dark but they maintain clarity and crush my pedals and amps. The middle position is so thick and heavy. It just kills. If DiD does another run of these, get one before they sell out, even if you already have a Warlord. You’ll be glad you did.
When you open the case for the first time, you can tell the build quality is solid without even touching it. The neck is incredibly playable and is finished very nicely. I am used to way chunkier necks (Guild S-100 is my most played guitar) so the slim feel of this guitar’s neck is now making me wonder what I have been missing all these years.
Hardware and playability aside, the tonal range on this thing is pretty bonkers. I have never really dug out of phase guitar tones, but I gotta say positions 2 and 4 on the 5-way selector have been blowing me away for coloring my lead tone. I am typically a neck pickup guy for both rhythm and lead, but I find myself using EVERY pickup on this thing during each session. I cannot understate how refreshing that is.
I have mostly been using this guitar to play stuff in the vein of Red Fang or Dozer and it has been handling wonderfully.
I love this guitar. Fantastic build quality and it looks stunning. A true modernization of two classics. There is lots of sustain and all 5 settings offer very different tones. Overall, extremely versatile is my best description. Don’t just hang it on a wall. It’s meant to be played.
I want to start this off by saying Steve is by far the most helpful, responsive and customer-oriented business owner I have ever dealt with. I had dreamt of owning a DC6 for years, knowing I would likely never own one. Steve changed that! Once the first run of Warlords was available for pre-order, I knew in my gut that I had to find the cash. I was weary at first to spend that much money on a pre-order of guitars that had not hit the market yet or that I was able to get hands on. (Not to mention I was unemployed due to COVID.) I pestered Steve with essay after essay of questions that, looking back, are hilarious given what I now know about gear, largely because of doom! He gave me full confidence I would love the guitar, and it surpassed every expectation by a landslide! It led me to join my first band 2 years later. Fast forward to now, and our band is opening for the Obsessed tour in April when they come to Maine.!!!!! Doom was the spark; the warlord was the fuel! I can’t thank Steve enough; I can’t wait to see what’s next!!! \m/
I got the tobacco burst on the second run. As one of the many people who missed out on the FAC DC-6, I’m outright grateful that Steve has brought these guitars back to the masses. It’s very similar to my ‘79 SG2000 (a $3000 beast!). Loads of weight, massive sustain. Very vintage guitar girth with a thinner, faster neck. Zero complaints on the frets. The nut is cut perfectly. Great design on the heel. Also, the pickups do not get the credit they deserve. I can’t justify putting new ones in, given how good they sound. The finish is top-tier. Great inlay work.
The tuners... well, the tuners are not so much. They stay in tune (which is really all that matters), but aren’t that smooth. But the quality at this price point does not justify knocking off a star. And I’ve been playing this thing for nearly a year and haven’t been troubled enough to replace them.
This thing is a beast! I own several other high end Gibsons and this thing is equal or better in every way. I was skeptical and figured it could be a good now and again guitar, but I find myself always playin this most days. If you missed ou, be sure to get on the next batch ~ the fit and finish is amazing, as well as the playability and sound. In addition, my first one got lost in the mail, but I still had a replacement within three days of my initial order – Steve sent another as soon as it even looked weird!!! AMAZING customer service from a super solid dude! Cannot recommend enough1
I can honestly say that this is my favorite guitar I’ve ever owned. That is, until it’s little aluminum brother is born and delivered to me by the stork.
I don’t think I can praise the Warlord enough. It’s honestly the guitar I’ve always wanted, but never thought would exist!
I have the black satin finish model and it’s just a BEAST!
It’s beautifully balanced, it’s solid as hell and it just feels right!
If you have the chance to get your hands around the neck of one of these…DO IT!! 🤘
I have bought the gloss black and the Grimburst Warlords. These are the best electric guitars I have ever owned. I would not trade them for a more expensive guitar; you will not be disappointed.
